Fall Leaves and Snow Edits

I always get a little excited after I do a shoot. I get so excited that I post before I edit.

It sort of goes along with the whole "think before you speak" thing. Edit before you post. I mean, there isn't anything terrible about the SOOC shots- but there's nothing real spectacular about them.

I guess it's debatable whether there is anything real spectacular about my edits either.

Anyway.. here are some edits from the shoot I did yesterday of the snow and the leaves. Only three, though. (Maybe I should edit more before I post, too..?)

Fall Leaves.. and Snow?

My last photo post included fall, and leaves. This photo post includes, fall, leaves, and snow. IN OCTOBER!! Yes, mark it down. It is October 29th, 2011 and we have 2 inches of snow on the ground so far! It really blows my mind. I hope I don't see grass again until Spring. Just sayin'. (: So anyway, here are some SOOC pictures of the leaves and snow. (:

Photo Transfer

Today, I happened to "stumble upon" (ha. haha.) this really awesome idea. I don't have any "gel medium", but I plan to get some asap. I think this the coolest thing ever. I love it. As soon as I get some of that Liquitex stuff, I'm going to do, and I'll post pictures of my end product. But in the mean time, check it out, HERE !

Fall Leaves

This past weekend we were in the mountains, and although most of the leaves were gone, there were still a few. And they were all gloriously colored. So here are just a few of my SOOC pictures. OH! And I shot these in RAW formatting, which is my new favorite way to take pictures. They turn out so much better, I'm amazed.! (:~Becky

Pictures? Uh.. well..

Lately, I've been SUPER busy, and have had no time to shoot digitally (I think my little sister has used my DSLR and Photoshop more than I have in the past few days..). I have, however, been busy shooting in black and white film with my Nikkormat FT2. So, as a result, I have no super creative photos to share, just the pictures I've taken with my Kodak point and shoot as I go places and do things. But they are hardly worth posting, as they're just of me and my friends. So, I guess I won't post any pictures today. No worries- I'll get shooting soon..

Flickr!

So, I just went on a Flickr uploading spree. I haven't uploaded anything to there in probably.. 6 months? It's been a while. Anyway, HERE's the link to my Flickr.

My fabulous photo teacher introduced me to this quote, and I love it. (:

Boots and Guitar Shoot

Today I did a shoot that I've been wanting to do for a long, long time. Two things that pretty much define me- cowboy boots and my guitar, Martin.
Like I said, I've been wanting to do this shoot for a while, but whenever I would think about doing it, it would be raining, or cloudy, or in the middle of the day, or something else that would inhibit the shoot from turning out nicely. So today, around 4pm, I thought, "Hey! I should go do my boots and guitar shoot!" So that's what I did. The sun was great, and made fabulous shadows (except for when I was standing with the sun to my back and ended up casting shadows on my subject matter, which got annoying. Really fast). I took over 230 pictures, but here are just a few of them, edited up all perty. They're not all that great, but I think I got a couple good ones. I realize, all my editing is really similar in these pictures (and most of my pictures). But I really like the vintage-y, antique-y editing. Sorry if it's not your cup of tea. I'll have to do some different editing at some point. But for now, I like my vintage, country, antique-y looking pictures. (:

This is my Martin. I love him. And yes, I do refer to my guitar as "him" or "he" and "Martin". I was inspired by this photo to do it. Granted, I think it's a lot better than mine, but it was my inspiration. I didn't want to copy it exactly.

Now, to me, this photo makes perfect sense. There's a guitar propped up on a guitar case, with the snip-toe boot toe propped up on the edge of the guitar. However, I took the photo, and I know that, that, is in fact, what it is. To anybody else, this picture probably doesn't make much sense..

My Durango cowboy boots. I love them. A lot. Ask anyone who knows me- I rarely go anywhere without them on. They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. And they go with anything from jeans to dresses. I will be wearing them when I get married. Just sayin'.
This is one of my favorite pictures from the shoot. I love how the ground reflects on Martin. There isn't any metamorphosis editing going on here. Just reflections. The only thing I don't like is my out of focus knee in the bottom right corner. It's just an eye sore.

Some of My Favorites

So, I haven't taken any wonderfully spectacular pictures lately, and since I'm a relatively new blogger, I thought I would share some of my favorite photos from past shoots that I've done. (:
This one to the right is of my boyfriend and his rabbit dog, Tracker. Tracker loves him, in case you couldn't tell. (: I took this last fall, probably around this time of year while Tracky was still in training, so we drug around a dead, frozen rabbit for him to track.
This is another shot of Tracker, sniffing out his bunny. My initial, carved into a tree. I took this last winter, but I carved that in probably 6 years ago.

This is a shot of my little sister. :)This shot is of my cousin, with me reflecting in the glasses. She's one of my favorite models. I have more of her to come. (:

This is my computer desktop. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I love pictures with text. (:
She is such a model. And I love her to death.
And to conclude my post- one of my all time favorite photos. I didn't take this, I found it on the internet, but I can't help but love it. I love my cowboy boots (anyone who knows me know that I rarely go anywhere without them on), and this photo has inspired me to wear them when I get married.
